The essentials

KinCart is currently in beta.

Before using it, please know:

  • KinCart is for adults aged 18 or over.
  • It is designed for everyday, non-clinical coordination within Households and Support Circles.
  • Information you add may be visible to other authorised members of the same Household or Support Circle.
  • KinCart must not be relied on for emergencies, safeguarding, medical care or other high-risk matters.
  • Beta features may change, occasionally fail or become temporarily unavailable.
  • The current public beta is free.
  • The KinCart Privacy Notice explains how personal data is handled.

These points are explained in more detail below.

1. About these Terms

These Beta Terms apply when you use KinCart during its beta testing period.

By creating an account or otherwise accepting these Terms, you agree to them and acknowledge the KinCart Privacy Notice.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use KinCart.

2. What KinCart is for

KinCart helps people keep everyday shared Needs, practical Schedules, conversations and useful context visible within a Household or Support Circle.

It is designed for ordinary coordination between people who have chosen to share a context together.

KinCart is not intended to be a clinical, safeguarding, legal, financial, employment or regulated-care record system.

Do not rely on KinCart for anything where missing, delayed or incorrect information could create a serious risk to someone's health, safety, rights or wellbeing.

For emergencies, safeguarding concerns, urgent health matters or other high-risk situations, use the appropriate professional, care-provider or emergency service.

3. Beta service

KinCart is still being tested and improved.

During beta:

  • features and wording may change;
  • some functionality may be added, changed or removed;
  • occasional bugs, compatibility issues or delays may occur;
  • access may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, security or testing;
  • some features may be available only to selected beta users.

We will take reasonable care in operating the beta, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The purpose of the beta is to understand whether KinCart's core Household and Support Circle coordination experience is useful, understandable and reliable enough for wider release.

4. Who can use KinCart

The current KinCart beta is for people aged 18 or over.

Do not create an account for a child or invite anyone under 18 to participate.

Adults may coordinate ordinary matters that relate to children, but KinCart should not be used to store sensitive information about children.

Any future service designed for younger users would require separate product, privacy and safeguarding arrangements.

5. Your account

Keep your account and sign-in method secure.

You must not:

  • share your sign-in access with another person;
  • use another person's account without permission;
  • attempt to access a Household or Support Circle you have not been authorised to join;
  • continue trying to access a Household or Support Circle after your permission to participate has ended.

If you believe your account has been accessed or used improperly, contact:

privacy@kincart.co.uk

6. Households, Support Circles and multi-context use

KinCart is multi-context by design.

You may belong to more than one Household or Support Circle, but each context remains separate.

Membership of one context does not provide access to another.

When you switch between contexts, KinCart updates the Needs, Activity and other information shown to match the context you selected.

Within each context:

  • Membership and access are controlled separately;
  • only authorised members can access the context;
  • information entered into that context may be visible to other authorised members of the same context;
  • permissions in one context do not automatically carry into another.

You should only create, join or invite people into a Household or Support Circle where there is a reasonable shared coordination reason for doing so.

7. Sharing information with other members

KinCart is built around shared visibility within a selected Household or Support Circle.

Before adding information, make sure it is appropriate for the people who currently have access to that context.

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • people you invite belong in the relevant context;
  • information you add is appropriate to share there;
  • names and descriptions you enter are appropriate;
  • you do not add personal information about another person without a reasonable shared coordination purpose;
  • you do not add information that other authorised members of that context should not see.

KinCart does not independently verify every statement made by members.

8. Information that does not belong in KinCart

KinCart is for everyday, non-clinical coordination.

Do not use KinCart to store:

  • emergency instructions;
  • safeguarding concerns;
  • passwords or security credentials;
  • bank account or payment-card details;
  • confidential legal information or critical legal deadlines;
  • confidential workplace information;
  • sensitive information about children;
  • diagnoses, symptoms or treatment instructions;
  • medication dosage instructions;
  • emergency health information;
  • formal care plans;
  • risk assessments;
  • door codes;
  • alarm information;
  • key locations;
  • other sensitive access-security information;
  • information that could cause serious harm if it were incorrect, delayed or seen by another authorised member.

An ordinary everyday Need may sometimes involve something such as collecting an item from a pharmacy or attending an appointment.

Keep such wording minimal and avoid adding unnecessary medical or sensitive detail.

9. Acceptable use

Use KinCart lawfully and respectfully.

You must not use KinCart to:

  • access another person's context without permission;
  • impersonate another person;
  • harass, threaten, shame or control someone;
  • use the service for surveillance or coercive monitoring;
  • create contribution rankings, reliability scores or performance records about members;
  • send spam, fraudulent invitations or malicious content;
  • interfere with KinCart's security, operation or availability;
  • introduce malware or harmful code;
  • obtain information through unauthorised scraping or automated access;
  • bypass security or access controls;
  • commercially exploit KinCart's proprietary software except where the law permits.

KinCart may restrict content or access where reasonably necessary to protect users, security, privacy, legal compliance or operation of the service.

10. Content you add

You remain responsible for the content you add to KinCart.

You give KinCart permission to host, process and display that content as reasonably necessary to provide and operate the service for authorised users.

You do not transfer ownership of your content to KinCart merely by adding it.

Where shared information forms part of a Household or Support Circle's history, leaving that context does not necessarily remove every historical reference to your previous participation.

KinCart may preserve limited historical information where reasonably necessary to keep shared Activity understandable, subject to its privacy controls, retention rules and applicable law.

11. Need Conversation

Where Need Conversation is available, members may discuss a specific Need within the relevant Household or Support Circle.

Conversation content may be visible to members authorised to access that Need and context.

Do not use Need Conversation for medical instructions, safeguarding concerns, confidential records, urgent matters or other information that should not be shared with the relevant authorised members.

Need Conversation does not replace emergency, clinical, care-provider or safeguarding communication channels.

12. Need-Linked Spend

KinCart may provide features that allow receipts, spending evidence or other purchase information to be linked to specific Needs.

Need-Linked Spend is intended to preserve evidence of how ordinary spending relates to a shared Need.

Where available, financial or spending information may have separate access controls.

Ordinary Household or Support Circle Membership does not necessarily provide access to all financial information.

Do not upload bank credentials, payment-card details, authentication codes or other sensitive financial-security information.

KinCart is not a bank, payment account or regulated financial adviser.

13. Feedback

You may choose to share feedback about the beta.

We may use that feedback to understand problems and improve KinCart.

We will not publicly identify you, publish private Household or Support Circle information, or use an identifiable quote or screenshot for marketing without separate permission.

14. Changes and availability

KinCart will continue to change during beta.

We may introduce, modify, test, pause or withdraw functionality where reasonably necessary for development, security, privacy, stability or operation of the service.

Where a change materially affects how you use KinCart, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.

Urgent security, privacy or stability changes may be made without advance notice.

Important notices may be provided through KinCart, the KinCart website or email where we hold your email address.

15. Pricing

The current public beta is free.

You will not be charged unless you separately choose and agree to a future paid service.

If KinCart introduces paid plans, pricing and any additional applicable terms will be provided before payment is required.

16. Organisation-sponsored Support Circles

KinCart may test organisation-sponsored Support Circles through controlled pilots.

An organisation funding access does not automatically:

  • become a member of the Support Circle;
  • own the Support Circle;
  • gain administrative authority over it;
  • gain access to private Needs, Need Conversations, Activity or Key Context;
  • gain access to unrelated Households or Support Circles.

A named professional or organisational representative may participate only where specifically authorised to join the relevant Support Circle.

Additional terms or privacy information may apply to future sponsored programmes.

17. KinCart intellectual property

KinCart's software, branding, interface, product design, product structure and other proprietary materials belong to the operator or relevant licensors.

You may use KinCart for its intended beta purposes.

Except where applicable law permits otherwise, you must not commercially reproduce, sell, clone, exploit or bypass the technical protections of KinCart or its proprietary software.

Nothing in this section changes your ownership of content you create and add to KinCart.

18. Leaving KinCart

You can stop using KinCart at any time.

If you have a KinCart account, you can delete it from Settings → Data & privacy → Delete my account.

For other privacy rights requests or questions, contact:

privacy@kincart.co.uk

The KinCart Privacy Notice explains how deletion, retention and data-protection rights are handled.

Leaving a Household or Support Circle normally ends your current access to it.

Limited historical references may remain where reasonably necessary to preserve the meaning of shared Activity or where retention is otherwise required or permitted by law.

19. Suspension or restriction

KinCart may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • these Terms are materially breached;
  • use of KinCart creates a security, privacy, safety or legal risk;
  • another person's use of the service is being disrupted;
  • fraudulent, abusive or malicious activity is suspected;
  • the beta itself is paused or discontinued.

Where appropriate, we will try to explain the restriction.

Immediate action may be taken where delay could create a material security, privacy, legal or safety risk.

20. Responsibility and legal rights

KinCart is an early-stage beta and should not be relied on for high-risk or time-critical purposes.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or free from defects.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

This includes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Your statutory consumer and other legal rights remain unaffected.

21. Privacy

The KinCart Privacy Notice explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, shared and protected.

These Beta Terms and the Privacy Notice should be read together.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as KinCart develops or where legal, security, privacy or operational requirements change.

If a change materially affects your rights or use of KinCart, we will make reasonable efforts to bring it to your attention before or when it takes effect.

The version and effective date shown at the top identify the Terms currently in force.

23. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If mandatory consumer law in the place where you live gives you additional rights, these Terms do not remove those rights.
